Why do I use RDX full-finger gloves for heavy gym sessions?
These gloves help protect your hands from painful tears, calluses, and bar friction during heavy pull-up and pressing sets. The silicone palm grips the bar well for me. Padding does make the bar feel thicker, though, and thicker gloves reduce grip strength. If your grip gives out first, straps or chalk help more. Full fingers add protection, and the fingertips work on a phone. You lose a little bar feel, as with any glove.
What I like
- Silicone palm that grips the bar well
- Full finger protection against calluses, tears, and pinching
- Touchscreen-compatible fingertips to use your phone without removing gloves
- Breathable, with a cotton sweat patch and an elastic wrist strap
Downsides
- Padding thickens your grip and can cut grip strength. For heavy deadlifts and rows, straps do more.
Adi's experience
The grip on these gloves is exceptional when moving high weights. I use them regularly for weighted pull-ups and heavy lifting sessions because they keep my grip locked tight and stop my hands from tearing up.
