Why is Revolution Nutrition Whey Protein Concentrate a staple for daily recovery?
I often have it before training: 25 g of protein with a little carbohydrate (9 g) and fat (4 g), and it sits light in my stomach. What matters most is your total protein for the day; a shake is just an easy way to get there. It has added lactase, the enzyme that breaks down milk sugar, and it doesn't bloat me. If dairy bothers you, the isolate has less lactose. A good, affordable everyday protein.
What I like
- 25 g protein per scoop, with 9 g carbs and 4 g fat (172 calories)
- Sits light in my stomach, with added lactase
- Mixes smooth, no foam
- Good value in the big bag
Downsides
- More milk sugar than the isolate (4 g a scoop vs 1 g). If dairy upsets your stomach, pick the isolate. Contains milk and soy.
- Less protein per calorie than the isolate: 25 g in 172 calories vs 28 g in 138.
- You don't need a shake. Protein from food works just as well; a shake just makes your daily number easier to hit.
Adi's experience
Tested by me using two shakes a day mixed with one cup of soy milk. It features a great price point, exceptionally smooth texture, and absolutely zero foam when mixed.
