Whey Protein Isolate by Revolution Nutrition

Adi's rating: 5 out of 5 · Best for: Cutting phases (most protein per calorie)
Why is this my top choice for lean muscle and cutting phases?
It's filtered to take out most of the carbs and fat, so you get 28 g of protein in a 138-calorie scoop. Each scoop has about 3.4 g of leucine, the amino acid that switches on muscle building, which is plenty for one serving. On a diet, what protects your muscle is lifting and eating enough protein. The isolate gets you that protein for fewer calories.
What I like
- 28 g protein and 3.4 g leucine per scoop
- Just 2 g carbs and 2 g fat per scoop (138 calories)
- Seamless mixing with zero grit or foam
- Good value in the big bag
Downsides
- Contains milk and soy. It isn't lactose-free (1 g of sugars a scoop), just lower in lactose.
- The calorie saving over the concentrate is real but small: about 50 calories per 25 g of protein. The diet does the fat-loss work, not the powder.
Adi's experience
My personal favorite between the two. Per scoop, you get a noticeable bump in protein and leucine compared to the concentrate. I take two shakes a day with a cup of soy milk.
